Resumen de Tendencias en experiencias con cursos online MOOC's

Se realiza una revisión bibliográfica relativa a los MOOCs cuyo objeto es determinar cuáles son las investigaciones más relevantes realizadas en los últimos años sobre experiencias con este tipo de cursos. Esta revisión es necesaria para identificar las necesidades y posibles mejoras encontradas en otras experiencias MOOCs de otros centros y poder aplicarlas sobre la plataforma de cursos de la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia. Se utilizan métodos de mapeo y revisión sistemática de literatura para evaluar e interpretar la información disponible en la base de datos de Google Scholar publicadas en los años comprendidos entre 2015 y 2018. La búsqueda inicial obtuvo 723 artículos y tras aplicar los criterios de inclusión y exclusión se analizaron un total de 30 artículos. Los resultados obtenidos muestran la importancia de estudiar la motivación desde dos puntos de vista: la que lleva a un estudiante a inscribirse en el curso y la motivación que lo lleva a culminarlo. Además, en las experiencias analizadas, destaca como objetivo principal encontrar cuál es la estrategia de aprendizaje más favorable para alcanzar la motivación social y el éxito del curso, reduciendo el alto porcentaje de abandonos.

A bibliographic review relative to the MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses)is carried out whose purpose is to determine which are the most relevant research in lastyears aboutexperiences with this type of courses. This review is necessary to identify the needs and possible improvements found in other MOOCs experiences of other education centers and to apply them on the course platform of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV).Methods of mapping and systematic review of literature are used to evaluate and interpret the information available in the Google Scholar database published in the years between 2015 and 2018. The results were recorded in an information extraction instrument. The initial search obtained 723 articles and after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, a total of 30 articles were analyzed.The results obtained show the importance of studying motivation from two points of view: the one that leads a student to enroll in the course and the motivation that leads him to complete it. In addition, in the analyzed experiences, the main objective is to find the most favorable learning strategy to achieve social motivation and the success of the course, reducing the high percentage of dropouts.
As factors that influence the success of MOOCs, the characteristics of the participants stand out, taking into account the capacity of self-regulation of each student (Milligan & Littlejohn, 2017), the use of activities with cooperative learning and combination of virtual activities with face-to-face ones. (Castaño, Garay & Maizq, 2018) and the importance of students having previous experiences in this type of courses (Kizilcec, 2017).
