  • Resumen
    • Genetic engineering is a powerfultool that allows scientists to manipulate thegenetic material of organisms. In thisexperiment, we employed genetic engineeringtechniques to introduce the green fluorescentprotein (GFP) gene into Escherichia coli. TheGFP gene, originally derived from a jellyfish, produces a protein that emits greenfluorescence when exposed to certainwavelengths of light. By successfully integratingthe GFP gene into the Escherichia coli ’sgenome, we were able to visualize theexpression of the protein in live cells. Thisexperiment demonstrates the potential ofgenetic engineering and GFP as a versatile toolfor studying gene expression and proteinlocalization. The implications for such a technology (geneticengineering) vary greatly from the livestock andagricultural industry to medicine andsustainability. Although some ethical issues areraised, genetic engineering shows significantpromise
