Conhecimentos prévios de estudantes do ensino médio sobre o uso da radiação na medicina

    Este trabalho apresenta os resultados de um questionário cujo o objetivo foi investigar os conhecimentos prévios de estudantes do Ensino Médio sobre otema o uso das radiações na Medicina. O questionário foi aplicado pela professora regente durante uma aula remota, através de um Formulário Google, para 97 estudantes com idades entre 15 e 18 anos, em três turmas do Ensino Médio de uma escola pública vinculada a uma universidade federal. Para análise dos resultados foi definido duas categorias a priori, a Física das Radiações e o Uso das Radiações na Medicina. A primeira permitiu perceber que parte dos estudantes identifica os principais tipos de radiação,entendem o processo de ionização e não o relacionam aos danos das radiações. Relativamente ao uso das Radiações na Medicina ficou claro que os alunos reconhecem o emprego de radiações em equipamentos médicos e acreditam que os raios-x podem causar danos aos seres humanos. Também evidenciou lacunas na parte conceitual, sobretudo na categoria Física das Radiações. Os resultados reforçam nossa defesa de que, durante o planejamento de ensino, é necessário investigar, através de diferentes situações, os conhecimentos prévios e a partir deles desenvolver atividades didáticas.

    This paper presents the results of a questionnaire whose objective was to investigate the prior knowledge of high school students on the topic of the use of radiation in medicine. The questionnaire was administered by the conducting teacher during a remote class, through a Google Form, for 97 students aged between 15 and 18, in three high school classes at a publicschool linked to a federal university. For analysis of the results, two a priori categories were defined, the Physics of Radiation and the Use of Radiation in Medicine. The first allowed us to realize that some of the students identify the main types of radiation, understand the ionization process and do not relate it to radiation damage. Regarding the use of radiation in medicine, it was clear that students recognize the use of radiation in medical equipment and believe that x-rays can cause harm to humanbeings. It also showed gaps in the conceptual part, especially in the Physics of Radiation category. The results reinforce our defense that, during teaching planning, it is necessary to investigate, through different situations, prior knowledge and, basedon them, develop didactic activities.
