    Hace un día precioso en Madrid, el cielo está limpio de nubes, lo que facilita que el sol se introduzca sin dificultad por las rendijas de las persianas de las ventanas. Bien iluminada, la sala resulta acogedora. Converso con mi próxima invitada, una mujer menuda, de ojos alegres y una amplia trayectoria vital… El tiempo pasa volando.

    Nacida en Brooklyn (Nueva York), en 1944, Margery Resnick ha mantenido a lo largo de seis décadas una relación muy estrecha con España. Una historia que comenzó cuando su profesor, Willis Barnstone, poeta, hispanista y traductor estadounidense, le recomendó que, dada su pasión por la poesía, se planteara estudiar Literatura Española y se animara a visitar nuestro país. Un viaje que tuvo lugar por primera vez en 1965.

    A lo largo de todos estos años, además de ejercer la docencia, ha escrito libros y artículos sobre literatura española. También es presidenta del Instituto Internacional, fundación benéfica constituida en Massachusetts en 1892 por educadoras y sufragistas estadounidenses, que se estableció en España para favorecer el intercambio educativo y cultural entre los dos países.

    Born in Brooklyn (New York) in 1944, Margery Resnick has maintained a very close relationship with Spain for more than six decades. A story that began when his teacher, Willis Barnstone, American poet, Hispanist and translator, recommended that, given his passion for poetry, he consider studying Spanish Literature and be encouraged to visit Spain. A trip that took place for the first time in 1965.

    Throughout all these years, in addition to teaching, he has written books and articles on Spanish literature. She is also president of the International Institute, a charitable foundation established in Massachusetts in 1892 by American educators and suffragettes, which was established in Spain to promote educational and cultural exchange between the two countries.
