    • PROSE® is a model and a working method for quality management in the sector of Education & Training. Recently, we’ve developed the PROSE® Online Diagnostics System (PODS). PODS aims to be a very user-friendly and transparent system to activate and analyse online self-assessments, evaluations and consultations. It allows to monitor the responses without breaking respondents´ privacy, resulting in high performance in terms of response rates. For AAL and ODL we’ve developed a set of 3 specific questionnaires on organizational and process issues of e-learning from an integrative quality management perspective. This means that all relevant input factors, core processes and output elements are taken into account, but also that all relevant actors participate in the diagnostics. The questionnaires allow the respondents to add comments to each item and to prioritize items according to the necessity to improve.

      The method is used by a teacher education department with more than 20 team units. A pilot version of the questionnaires is used by 5 team units who started a trajectory in distance learning. The method of diagnostics is evaluated in terms of usability standards (utility, efficiency, facility). Response rates are high. The questionnaires ware rated as high in face- and content validity by distance education experts, and showed a high test-retest reliability. The system thus not only generates quality indicators but immediately also potential plans for action, as the items in the questionnaires are very concrete and specific. The PODS toolbox of PROSE® thus provides the e-learning community with an effective online evaluation and assessment of e-processes within contextual quality management.
