The historical syntax of the complex sentence becomes, almost inevitably, the historical syntaxof the discourse, since its linguistic configuration depends to a large extent on how the periods that comprise it are articulated. With this objective in mind, various Castilian textsfrom the Middle Ages and classical times (Golden Age) have been analyzed, trying to find continuitiesand changes in the syntactic organization of the texts. On the other hand, this syntacticconfiguration is closely related to textual typologies, which can also change over time, and with the enunciative functions present in texts, which can also serve to characterize them.
