Throughout the 20th Century, there was a rich, but desultory, relation between the Spanish and Catalan literatures, that we can ascertain in punctual influences, friendships between authors and their mutual translations. This study wants to describe the Spanish translations of Catalan stories and novels during the seventies, and to try to understand why these works were interesting for the Spanish reader and market, in those years of political and social changes in Spain (and, of course, in Catalonia) that saw the end of a dictatorship and the beginning of the democracy.
