Resumen de Causal Explanation in Theories of Probabilistic Causation

Tim De Craecker

  • Ellery Eells introduced the notion of a probability trajectory in the analysis of singular causation. In this paper this notion is further refined in a probabilistic counterfactual framework and related to the work of Jack Good on probabilistic causation. When the search for a causal explanation of an event is motivated by more specific aims, the probabilistic approach is able to select the relevant causes in the causal history of the event, because of its quantitative nature.
