  • Resumen
    • This present study was conducted to evaluate the implementation of the internship program of the Institute of Education, Arts and Sciences at City College of Angeles. Respondents of the study are 84 pre-service teachers from the Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) and Bachelor of Performing Arts (BPeA) program who had their internship last A.Y. 2021-2022. Results revealed that the internship program of the Teacher Education department is very effective since it is responsive to the needs of the stakeholders, and at the same time effective in helping students develop their skills needed for their teaching career. On the other hand, deployment of the students to various public schools in the conduct of their student internship program is one of the major issues found based on the results. On the positive note, pre-service teachers highly appreciate the internship program offered by the institute. Results of this study will be utilized for the improvement of the internship program of the pre-service teachers of the institute. Regular review of the BPEd and BPeA’s curriculum and courses to match the needs of the industry and organization should be performed. Additionally, possibilities of forging linkages with other private schools, and other industries related to the program is highly recommended. Lastly, formulation and development of the institutional policies and guidelines regarding the student internship program or deployment manual which may serve as reference for pre-service teachers is highly suggested.
