  • Resumen
    • In the contemporary context of web platforms, there is a need to develop skills that allow the proper use of technological tools. In particular, it is necessary to encourage critical thinking in an appropriate way to express, share, inform and debate correctly. In this context, social networks have changed the meaning of participation and encouraged a certain degree of commitment to contributions. An example of this is the platforms that host stories created by fans. These fanfiction platforms are in themselves an exercise in skills related to technological tools. This research studies the possible effect of the fanfiction community on learning these skills, emphasizing their possibilities within the educational environment. The main objective is to analyze the relationship between the practice of fanfiction and the promotion of reading and writing in young people. To this end, the study conducts qualitative research through semi-structured interviews with authors on the Wattpad platform. The research detects various axes of motivation, among them the social interaction that encourages writing and reading.
