  • Resumen
    • Teaching observation is a very powerful methodology for the development of teaching reflective skills. For this reason, Humanitas University has identified teaching observation as the ideal tool to start its own faculty development action. A survey was carried out with the group of lecturers, who participated in the initiative over the course of two academic years, to investigate the perception of the effectiveness of the tool and, in detail, the areas of possible change as well as the difficult areas to tackle and the interests in continuing and deepening the process of improving teaching practices. The survey was carried out in a context where there is no previous tradition in the use of this methodology, the data therefore represents an opportunity to map the different variables to be taken into account on similar conditions and contexts. The development of university lecturers' reflective competences on their teaching needs to be based on data from a variety of perspectives and thus go beyond the narrow focus on student evaluation questionnaires.
