Resumen de La genética mendeliana de secundaria a través del laboratorio virtual

  En los últimos años, las investigaciones muestran un creciente desinterés por parte de los alumnos en el estudio de las ciencias. Dos de los factores que provocan esta situación son, por un lado, la continuidad que se da en la práctica docente a métodos tradicionales, alejada de las recomendaciones de las investigaciones didácticas y, por otro lado, la escisión entre teoría y práctica, tan importante en la enseñanza de ciencias. Por tanto, se hace necesario la búsqueda de estrategias didácticas eficaces y actualizadas a la realidad presente y una mayor y mejorada integración de las actividades de carácter práctico y experimental. Bajo este contexto, la genética es uno de los contenidos del currículum de biología que se valora entre los más importantes y, a su vez, complicados de aprender. Esta investigación ha tenido como objetivo evaluar una propuesta didáctica basada en el uso de un laboratorio virtual para el estudio de genética mendeliana en 4o de la ESO. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que la propuesta ha resultado ser interesante y motivadora para los alumnos, ha permitido que adquieran, en su mayoría, los conocimientos básicos necesarios y que amplíen ciertos contenidos sin la ayuda directa del profesor.

  In the last few years, research has shown a growing disengagement among pupils towards the study of science. Two reasons leading to this situation are, on the one hand, the prevalence of traditional methods in teaching practice, divorced from the recommendations of educational research, and, on the other hand, the split between theory and practice, which is so important in science teaching. Therefore, it is necessary to search for effective teaching strategies that are up-to-date with current realities, and a greater and improved integration of practical and experience-based activities. In this context, genetics is one of the most important and, at the same time, difficult contents within the biology curriculum. The aim of this research is to evaluate a teaching proposal based on the use of a virtual laboratory for the study of Mendelian genetics with a group of pupils in the 4th year of ESO (form Spanish education system). The findings show that the proposal has proved to be interesting and motivating for the pupils. It has also enabled them to acquire, for the most part, the necessary basic knowledge, and to broaden their knowledge of certain contents without the direct help of the teacher.
