Resumen de Smartphone como herramienta de enseñanza-aprendizaje en Educación Superior en Nicaragua

  El progreso de la tecnología aplicada al campo de la educación está permitiendo su integración en el desarrollo de actividades académicas de Educación Superior, concretamente la telefonía móvil inteligente o Smartphone se está posicionando como una herramienta tecnológica con un gran potencial educativo. En esta investigación, se presenta un análisis descriptivo de la percepción que tienen 525 estudiantes universitarios de tres Facultades Regionales Multidisciplinares de la UNAN-Managua (Nicaragua) sobre la importancia, el conocimiento y el uso de los Smartphones en los procesos de enseñanza-aprendizaje, los beneficios y dificultades de la introducción de estos dispositivos tecnológicos como herramientas de utilidad en contextos de Educación Superior, así como cuestiones relacionadas con necesidades formativas al respecto. La metodología de investigación es cuantitativa y para la recogida de datos se ha utilizado una versión corta del instrumento "Smartphone and University Questionnaire. Student Perspective. SUQS". Entre los principales resultados destacan que la mayoría de estudiantes participantes en este estudio indican haber experimentado algún tipo de práctica educativa donde el docente ha introducido de manera didáctica el Smartphone en clase, concediendo una importancia relevante al uso del Smartphone para diversas actividades académicas, valorando positivamente que el profesorado utilice este dispositivo durante el desarrollo de su docencia y reclamando formación para la mejora de competencias en este ámbito. En cualquier caso, existen diferencias significativas en los resultados obtenidos entre estudiantes de las tres Facultades en diferentes ítems, así como entre alumnos de diferentes carreras o teniendo en cuenta su lugar de procedencia.

  The progress of technology applied to the field of education is allowing its integration in the development of academic activities in higher education, specifically, the smartphone is positioning itself as a technological tool with great educational potential. This research presents a descriptive analysis of the perception of 525 university students from three regional multidisciplinary faculties of the UNAN-Managua (Nicaragua) on the importance, knowledge, and use of smartphones in the teaching-learning processes, the benefits and difficulties of the introduction of these technological devices as useful tools in higher education contexts, as well as issues related to training needs in this regard. The research methodology is quantitative and a short version of the instrument "Smartphone and University Questionnaire. Student Perspective. SUQS" is used in order to collect data. Among the main results, it is worth mentioning that most of the students participating in this study indicate having experienced some kind of educational practice where the teacher has introduced the smartphone in class in a didactic way, giving relevant importance to the use of the smartphone for various academic activities, valuing positively that teachers use this device during the development of their teaching and demanding training for the improvement of competences in this area. In any case, there are significant differences in the results obtained among students from the three faculties in different items, as well as among students from different careers or taking into account their place of origin.
