The Book of Contemplation in God (1272-1273), by the Majorcan philosopher Ramon Llull(1232-1316) can be understood as a work about the Universe and Nature, as the author intends to lead theindividual to contemplate the world from the perspective of divine eyes through the pupil of human eyes. Inthe VIII Distinction, which deals with Divine Truth, Llull develops several comparisons between the earthlyperspective and the sacred precepts about the existence of man, to contrast the paths of condemnation withthose of holiness. In this way, the objective of the present work is to analyse the definition that the philosopherRamon Llull presents of God as the Truth (VIII Distinction, chapter 23) and to contrast it with themundane falsehoods that separate man from the purposes of his Creator. The author believes that humanlife must be focused on praise, love, service, and honour to God. Only in this way will the human beingbe able to prepare for the day of Judgment, when all vanity, lies and falsehoods will be opposed to the fulltruth of the Creator. And this condition, man’s constant challenge, only has its essential beginning when inpossession of revealed truth.
