  • Resumen
    • Students of the Degree in Pharmacy of the University of Valencia act as teachers in Secondary Schools (IES), informing about addictive substances. They carry out collaborative work interacting with students from other levels, developing specific and transversal competences, performing skills in the transmission of knowledge so that the information has a greater impact in school students and then, the prevention of substance abuse is effective in both types of students. The activity used methodologies of flipped classroom, gamification, TICs and an educational pill as a laboratory practice video, as well as a practical demonstration.

The evaluation was carried out by means of two questionnaires. Although all students agreed that drugs are not necessary for enjoyment and are not part of their youth, 10% of them reported smoking tobacco daily, 20% had ever used cannabis, 19% drank alcohol sometimes a week, 15% used amphetamines and 4% had tried cocaine.

All participants rated the activity positively. It is recommended to support the activity with other key prevention strategies to achieve effective results to raise awareness about the risks, with accurate information, provide healthy leisure alternatives that do not inevitably lead to the use of drugs or alcohol and stress management strategies, since consumption is mainly motivated by these two factors.
