  • Resumen
    • This chapter presents a new curriculum proposal for the 21st century and describes the main lines of the Globaliza Curriculum Project. First, the main social transformations that are affecting education are identified: digitization of information and communication technologies; the growing diversity in a multicultural society; the globalization of the economy, politics and culture; and, the degradation of the environment on a planetary scale. From this analysis, the key characteristics of what we have called “global curriculum”are exposed, as a new valid scheme for the information society. Next, the pedagogical bases of this curricular project are presented: Global Education or for World Citizenship, Critical Teaching for Ecosocial Change and Authentic, Deep and Holistic Learning. The essential goal is education in universal and fully democratic values that concern both the human plane and the ecological sphere. The project consists of eight integrated teaching units that are somewhat related to the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda. Finally, the innovative didactic model that constitutes the axis of this educational program is included. It is concluded that this new curricular project responds to current social and ecological challenges and that itspurpose is to achieve a better world.
