In family farms, the decision unit is the familiar unit conditioned by economic, socio demographic and psychographic variables. In this communication, the opinions of sheep farmers, using a Natural Protected Park, on farmer profession and sheep farming were studied. Data were obtained by means of direct interview of farmers. A farmer’s typology was established using Principal Components Analysis and Cluster Analysis. Four groups of farms were obtained. Most of farmer groups were proud of their work. First group of farmers were pessimistic about the future of sheep farming in this area, the consequences of agri-environmental measures and the presence of tourism activities. Nevertheless, other farmer groups were less pessimistic but, in order to be profitable, they stressed that investments on their farms were required.
