Resumen de Análisis comparativo de explotaciones de vacuno de leche especializadas y mixtas en Aragón

Olivia Barrantes Díaz, I. Blasco, R. Reiné, C.C. López Lastra, J. Regan, T. Nesme, Ana Olaizola Tolosana

  • There are diverse dairy farming systems in Aragon, including ''specialized'' and ''mixed''. Specialized farms, focused on dairy production, had less cultivable land which was devoted to fodder production. Mixed farms combine plant production with milk production and had more cultivable land, devoted to grain and forage crops. Other differences between them were the costs of feed concentrates and straw (lower for mixed), inorganic fertilizers and oil (lower for specialized). Integrated crop-livestock systems, not only at farm scale but also at landscape scale, can provide environmental and financial benefits, while having higher complexity of management.
