La ciencia avanza a un paso vertiginoso y la formación musical profesional no está al margen de sus aportes y desafíos. Los nuevos métodos y medios de enseñanza no se contraponen a los tradicionales, sino que adicionan a estos las ventajas que brindan las nuevas tecnologías de la información y comunicación.
Es conocido que la educación y la música se han desarrollado considerablemente desde que las nuevas tecnologías comenzaron a relacionarse con ellas; por ello se vuelve necesario incorporar estudios sobre su impacto en la formación musical universitaria. La presente investigación se realizó durante el periodo 2017- 2018, antes de la presente pandemia del COVID-19, realizando un análisis del estado en la formación de estudiantes de música en la Universidad Católica Santiago de Guayaquil, en Ecuador, y su relación con las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación (TIC)
