Resumen de História de Disciplinas Escolares em Uma “Escola Exemplar” em Mato Grosso do Sul: Possibilidades de uma História da Cultura Escolar (1939-2002)

Considering that the history of a school subject has to be analyzed inside the school culture that producedit and that was produced by it, histories of school subjects were analyzed (Latin Language, English Language,Physical Education, Music, Spanish Language, Portuguese Language and History) in the place they wereproduced: the State School Maria Constança de Barros Machado, the “exemplary school” of Campo Grande/MS, that would have been, not only a reference of quality and formation, but also attached to the own culturalidentity of the “elite” social groups in this city. Since these researches materialize different versions of thisschool history, from its foundation in 1939 until 2002, they are the object of this study. There are variationsin the use of historiographical sources: some worked exclusively with written sources (documents localized inthe school archive, including didactic books that were used in each school subject); others with written andoral sources (interview with students, ex-students, teachers and ex-teachers). It was concluded that the historyof each discipline relates to the legal exigencies of each period, to the characteristics of the teachers but also tothe own “exemplarity” of the school.

Considerando que a história de uma disciplina escolar precisa ser analisada no interior da cultura escolar que a produziu e foi por ela produzida, foram analisadas histórias de disciplinas escolares (Língua Latina, Língua Inglesa, Educação Física, Música, Língua Espanhola, Língua Portuguesa e História) no locus de sua produção: o Colégio Estadual Maria Constança Barros Machado, a “escola exemplar” de Campo Grande/MS,que teria sido, não apenas referência de qualidade e de formação, mas também percebida como ligada à própria identidade cultural dos grupos sociais que se expressavam como “elites” nessa cidade. Por materializarem formas diferenciadas de reescrita da história desta escola, desde a fundação, em 1939, até 2002, essas pesquisas são objeto deste estudo. Há variações no/do uso das fontes historiográficas: algumas trabalharam exclusivamente com fontes escritas (documentos localizados nos arquivos da escola, inclusive livros didáticos comprovadamente utilizados em cada disciplina); outras com fontes escritas e orais (entrevistas com alunos, ex-alunos, professores e ex-professores). Concluiu-se que a história de cada uma das disciplinas relaciona-se com as exigências legais das diferentes épocas, com características dos professores, mas também com a própria “exemplaridade” da escola.
