Use of training intineraries for competency-based training in the university: A systematic review

  • The construction of the Europe of Knowledge is conceived from the relationship between the university and labour contexts. Consequently, university programs must consider and offer training on transversal skills that contribute to increase the employability and facilitate the incorporation into the labor market. This generates certain challenges when designing the training courses. Research on the subject offers different methodologies that, although effective, leave the problem of competency-based training unresolved. Thus, we propose training itineraries as a useful methodology for competency training. This methodology is used in the field of job placement for the vulnerable population and is recognized as one of the resources with an identity seal for training in insertion companies. Therefore, the objective of this research is to present a bibliographic review on training itineraries as a methodology for university teaching. Following the recommendations of the PRISMA declaration we selected 13 articles for content analysis. As a result of this analysis, we offer a synthesis on the concept of training itinerary as a teaching methodology, as well as its fundamental principles in the university teaching-learning process, and the steps to generate training itineraries in this process. Finally, we present teaching experiences with training itineraries in university teaching.
