    This paper aims to make an approximation to the reception in Catalonia of the nineteenth century French booklet. Part of the reception of Les Mystères de Paris, by Eugène Sue, originally published in Le Journal des Débats between 1842 and 1843 and that was a great success in Catalonia, with translations that appeared the following year of the original, especially the Castilian translation of Joan Cortada of 1844, the first one published in Barcelona (Impremta de Tomàs Gorchs). Next, the reception and the great influence of this work and the French leaflets in general in the Catalan culture of the nineteenth century, and especially in popular culture, are studied more specifically, an influence that we can trace in the appearance of brochures inspired by the French in the periodic press (especially in popular publications, such as La Barretina, Lo Esquirol or La Gorra de Cop) and on the birth and survival of the popular imaginary of a followed by topics and characters from French leaflets (through, for example, drawings published in L’Almanach de l’Esquella de la Torratxa).

    Aquest treball pretén de fer una aproximació a la recepció a Catalunya de la novel·la fulletonesca francesa del dinou. Parteix de la recepció de Les Mystères de Paris, d’Eugène Sue, publicada originalment a Le Journal des Débats entre el 1842 i el 1843 i que va tenir un gran èxit a casa nostra, amb traduccions aparegudes ja l’any següent de l’original, especialment de la traducció castellana de Joan Cortada del 1844, la primera publicada a Barcelona (per la Impremta de Tomàs Gorchs). Tot seguit, s’estudia més concretament la recepció i la gran influència d’aquesta obra i del fulletó francès en general en la cultura catalana del dinou, i molt especialment en la cultura popular, una influència que podem rastrejar d’una banda en l’aparició de fulletons inspirats en els francesos a la premsa periòdica (especialment en les publicacions populars, com ara La Barretina, Lo Esquirol o La Gorra de Cop) i de l’altra en el naixement i pervivència en l’imaginari popular d’un seguit de temes i de personatges d’origen fulletonesc francès (a través, per exemple, dels dibuixos publicats a L’Almanach de l’Esquella de la Torratxa).
