Aplicación de la teoría de la actividad a un caso de transición de educación presencial a educación a distancia

    Este estudio investigó el proceso de transición de la modalidad presencial a la modalidad a distancia —provocado por la crisis sanitaria derivada de la enfermedad covid-19— desde las diferentes perspectivas de los integrantes de la Escuela de Prótesis Dental Taxqueña (EPRODENT), la cual se apoya en un sistema educativo basado en competencias profesionales. El enfoque teórico en el que se basó este trabajo es la teoría de la actividad, lo que permitió visualizar el fenómeno como un sistema de actividad humana para realizar un análisis de la acción cultural del entorno. Para realizar la presente investigación se efectuaron entrevistas semiestructuradas y se aplicaron cuestionarios a administrativos, docentes y estudiantes; los datos cuantitativos y cualitativos obtenidos permitieron analizar la actividad de la institución como un sistema de actividad con fortalezas, como la integración de nuevas herramientas tecnológicas para el aprendizaje, pero también con debilidades, como la falta de materiales para el trabajo de los estudiantes en casa, y contradicciones, como el poco uso de Google Classroom y el excesivo uso de WhatsApp en el desarrollo del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje. Se concluyó que la teoría de la actividad favoreció un enfoque global del sistema, lo que permitió realizar sugerencias de mejora.

    This study investigates the Taxqueña Dental Prosthesis School (EPRODENT) transition process from a face-to-face modality to the distance modality, caused by the present health crisis derived from the COVID-19 disease. This is seen from the different perspectives of the members of the school, which upported an educational system based on professional competences. The theoretical approach on which this work is based is the Activity Theory, which allows visualizing the phenomenon as a system of human activity to carry out an analysis of the cultural action of the environment. To carry out this research, semi-structured interviews were conducted and questionnaires were applied to administrators, professors and students with the objective of contrasting the statements of the participants who are part of the institution. These quantitative and qualitative data allowed analyzing the activity of the institution as an activity system that presents strengths such as the integration of new technological tools for learning; but also the weaknesses, such as the lack of materials for the students’ work at home, and contradictions including the little use of Google Classroom and the excessive use of WhatsApp in the development of the teaching-learning process. It is concluded that the Activity Theory favored a global perspective from the system, which allowed making suggestions for improvement.
