La Educación Intercultural pertinente y de calidad: “un derecho en camino”

    El objetivo de este ensayo consiste en ofrecer algunas reflexiones sobre la Educación Intercultural en la Regiones Autónomas a partir de las experiencias del Sistema Educativo Autonómico Regional (SEAR) y de la Universidad de las Regiones Autónomas de la Costa Caribe Nicaragüense (URACCAN), dos procesos desarrollados en el área de educación como una reivindicación derecho humano de los pueblos indígenas, afrodescendientes y comunidades étnicas en la región. Procesos, en los que hay grandes avances, también hay muchos retos por superar para avanzar hacia esa educación que un día soñaron mujeres y hombres de la Costa Caribe. Una educación de calidad para y por la vida, es la educación basada en su propia filosofía de vida, desde su propia cosmovisión y en función de los principios y prácticas del buen vivir, es una de las principales demandas históricas de los pueblos originarios, que se ha hecho sin duda presente en la Costa Caribe Nicaragüense (Hooker-Blandford, 2017), materializada, en su máxima expresión, en el Sistema Educativo Autonómico Regional y en la creación de instancias educativas pertinentes, caso de la universidad comunitaria intercultural, URACCAN. Tanto el SEAR como URACCAN representan un salto de significación “histórica”, al integrar, de manera explícita y articulada, el enfoque intercultural y de género, como ejes estructurantes del modelo educativo, integrando así la propuesta de dos sujetos sociales: las organizaciones indígenas y afrodescendientes y las organizaciones de mujeres. Partiendo de lo anterior las reflexiones están en torno a una educación para el cambio, género e Interculturalidad en el SEAR, la Universidad Comunitaria Intercultural, la Interculturalización de la Educación Superior, desafíos para lograr la interculturalización de la educación superior.

    The objective of this essay is to offer some reflections on Intercultural Education in the Autonomous Regions based on the experiences of the Regional Autonomous Educational System (SEAR for its acronyms in Spanish) and the University of the Autonomous Regions of the Nicaraguan Caribbean Coast (URACCAN), two processes developed in the education area​​ as a human right vindication of indigenous peoples, afro-descendants and ethnic communities in the region. The processes in which there are great improvements, there are also many challenges to overcome to move towards that education dreamed one day by women and men of the Caribbean Coast. A quality education for life is an education based on its own philosophy of life, from its own worldview and based on the principles and practices of good living, it is one of the main historical demands of the original peoples, which It has undoubtedly been present in the Nicaraguan Caribbean Coast (Hooker-Blandford, 2017) materialized at its best in the Regional Autonomous Educational System and in the creation of relevant educational instances in the case of the intercultural community university, URACCAN. Both SEAR and URACCAN represent a leap of “historical” significance, by integrating in an explicit and articulated way, the intercultural and gender approach as structuring axes of the educational model, thus integrating the proposal of two social subjects: indigenous and Afro-descendants organizations and women's organizations. Based on the above, the reflections are about education for change, gender and Interculturality at the SEAR, the Intercultural Community University, the Interculturalization of Higher Education, challenges to achieve the interculturalization of higher education.
