Extravío de la educación universitaria contemporánea

    Extraviar es perder algo o no saber u olvidar dónde se encuentra, dícese también de una persona que pierde el camino o la orientación y de un desorden de las costumbres. En la universidad contemporánea pueden observarse algunos extravíos, por lo menos, en lo que se refiere a la educación que ofrece. No son olvidos cualesquiera, no deberían pasarse por alto, son importantes y merecen una reflexión. Se puede decir, como tantas veces se hace, que la educación universitaria de los últimos años se está reinventando, que ha entrado en un proceso de innovación y que está adaptándose a los tiempos que corren. Está bien, es bueno que así sea, pero eso no niega que al mismo tiempo haya ido olvidándose de algunas de sus esenciales funciones y características por el camino y, por lo tanto, perdiéndose ella misma. Si algo malo puede pasarle a la educación universitaria es que deje de ser lo que está llamada a ser. Este artículo se centra en cuatro extravíos de la universidad de hoy, a saber: que los estudiantes son personas dependientes de la universidad; que el profesorado universitario es un transmisor de conocimientos; que hay contenidos particulares y concretos que el estudiante debe aprender por él mismo; y, por último, que la pedagogía universitaria debe servir para fomentar una vida de estudio. La educación universitaria puede llevarse a cabo de muchas maneras, pero no de todas las que uno pueda imaginar. Sin las cuestiones que acaban de señalarse, la educación universitaria que acontece es débil y desustanciada, una versión reducida y simple, en definitiva, es aconsejable recuperar esos olvidos y ponerlos por obra

    To misplace is to lose something or not to know or forget where it is, also to say of a person who loses his way or orientation and a disorder of customs. In the contemporary university some losses can be observed, at least, in terms of the education that it offers. They are not just any forgetfulness, they should not be overlooked, they are important and deserve reflection. It can be said, as is so often done, that the university education of recent years is being reinvented, that it has entered a process of innovation and that it is adapting to the current times. It's good that it is, but that doesn't negate that at the same time she's been forgetting some of her essential functions and characteristics along the way and therefore losing herself. If something bad can happen to a university education, it is that it ceases to be what it is called to be. This article focuses on four losses of the university today, namely: that students are dependent people of the university; whereas university teaching staff are a transmitter of knowledge; that there are particular and concrete contents that the student must learn by himself; and, finally, that university pedagogy should serve to promote a life of study. College education can be carried out in many ways, but not in every way one can imagine. Without the issues that have just been pointed out, the university education that happens is weak and without substance, a reduced and simple version, in short, it is advisable to recover that forgetfulness and put them into practice.
