    El Internet avanza a una gran velocidad y ofrece un amplio abanico de recursos. El uso que hagamos de las herramientas y de las redes sociales marcará nuestras acciones para comunicarnos y relacionarnos. Adolescentes y jóvenes son quienes más navegan, transitan y residen en la red dejando impregnada una huella digital, generando un mundo paralelo, donde las reglas del juego cambian, se reinventan continuamente, sin existir, aparentemente, límites. Se genera un espacio virtual en el cual las personas quedan expuestas, un entorno que en ocasiones es tomado para potenciar una violencia online adoptando diferentes formas de manifestarse. El presente artículo pretende recoger una breve aproximación teórica sobre la importancia y el impacto del Internet, y qué papel juegan las TIC en temas de violencia de género, a través de la investigación realizada y financiada por la Fundación BBVA, sobre la percepción que tienen el alumnado de 3º y 4º de la Educación Secundaria Obligatoria (ESO), en la manera de ejercer la violencia de género en entornos virtuales. Para ello se han utilizado instrumentos y técnicas de recogida de la información, como una encuesta online aplicada a 4,536 estudiantes de: Andalucía, Cataluña, Aragón Galicia, Islas Baleares y Canarias; se han realizado grupos de discusión y se han elaborado narrativas digitales. Los resultados manifiestan la necesidad de realizar acciones educativas para sensibilizar, concienciar, actuar y prevenir sobre la violencia en Internet.

    Internet advances at a great speed and offers a wide range of resources. The use we make of the tools and social networks will mark our actions to communicate and relate. Teenagers and young people are the ones who surf the most, transit and reside in the network, leaving a fingerprint impregnated, generating a parallel world, where the rules of the game change, they reinvent themselves continuously, without existing, apparently, limits. It generates a virtual space in which people are exposed, an environment that is sometimes taken to promote online violence by adopting different forms of expression. The present article aims to collect a brief theoretical approach on the importance and impact of the Internet and what role ICTs play in gender violence issues. The following is the research carried out and financed by the BBVA Foundation on the perception of 3 or 4 Secondary Education (ESO) students in the way of exercising gender violence in virtual environments. For them, instruments and techniques for collecting information have been used, such as an online survey applied to 4536 students from: Andalucía, Cataluña, Aragón Galicia, Balearic and Canary Islands, discussion groups have been held and digital narratives have been developed. The results show the need to carry out educational actions to sensitize, raise awareness, act and prevent violence on the Internet.
