La Unión Europea en la serie 'Parlement' (2020). Entre la ficción y el realismo

    El interés de esta investigación radica en el análisis de la única serie de ficción que versa sobre el funcionamiento de la Unión Europea: la producción franco-belga-alemana Parlement (Émilie Noblet y Jérémie Sein, 2020). A través de una metodología cualitativa se busca responder a un triple objetivo de investigación: (1) analizar los personajes principales y sus elementos característicos; (2) identificar la relación espacio-tiempo y las acciones políticas planteadas en la ficción para dotar de realismo a su desarrollo a través de los escenarios y argumentos planteados; y (3) detectar la existencia de paralelismos entre la Unión Europea subyacente en el imaginario social y la presentada en la serie al amparo de la teoría de las representaciones sociales, el efecto de realidad y las encuestas del Eurobarómetro. Los resultados revelan que Parlement trabaja con estereotipos y percepciones sociales sobre la Unión Europea desde la sátira, pero ofrece elementos pedagógicos en todos sus episodios. De esta manera logra ser un catalizador popular para acercar la política europea a la ciudadanía proyectando una imagen más humana y desenfadada.

    The interest of this research resides in the analysis of the only fiction series dealing with the functioning of the European Union: the French-Belgian-German production Parlement (Émilie Noblet and Jérémie Sein, 2020). Through a qualitative methodology, it seeks to answer a threefold research objective: (1) to analyze the main characters and their characteristic elements; (2) to identify the space-time relationship and the political actions addressed in fiction in order to provide realism to its development through the scenarios and arguments presented; and (3) to detect the existence of parallelisms between the European Union in the social imagery and the one presented in the series according to the theory of social representations, the reality effect and the Eurobarometer surveys. The results reveal that Parlement works with stereotypes and social perceptions about the European Union through satire but manages to offer pedagogical elements in all its episodes. In this way, it accomplishes becoming a popular catalyst to bring European politics closer to citizens, by projecting a more human and lighthearted image.
