¿Emprendimiento o startup? Un análisis creativo en el contexto peruano

    Las sociedades buscan iniciativas —como emprendimientos o startups— que aporten productos novedosos y originales como propuestas de valor sostenibles; sin embargo, en el Perú se ha identificado una confusión entre lo que significa un emprendimiento y una startup. Por ello, el trabajo consistió en evaluar el estado de estas definiciones, para lo cual se aplicó una metodología exploratoria basada en entrevistas a emprendedores del ecosistema peruano. El principal resultado demuestra que muchos de los actores diferencian un emprendimiento tradicional de una startup con base en variables como el crecimiento exponencial y el componente tecnológico. No obstante, no se evidencian la creatividad o la innovación como diferenciadores de la startup. Este trabajo se propone profundizar en estas nociones, a fin de potenciar al ecosistema emprendedor.

    Societies seek initiatives —such as entrepreneurships or startups— that provide novel and original products as sustainable value propositions; however, in Peru, a confusion has been identified between what an enterprise and a startup mean. Therefore, the work consisted of evaluating the status of these definitions, for which an exploratory qualitative methodology was applied through in-depth interviews to experts of the Peruvian ecosystem. The main result shows that many entrepreneurs differentiate a traditional venture from a startup, under aspects related to the exponential growth potential and the technological component. However, there is no evidence of recognition of creativity or innovation as diffe-rentiating components of the startup. This publication aims to deepen these definitions, in order to empower this entrepreneurial ecosystem.
