El español lengua extranjera en Costa de Marfil: ¿por qué y para qué se aprende?

    Siempre sorprende a los hispanohablantes nativos que pisan el continente por primera vez, empezando por los propios españoles, el gran interés que existe por su idioma en África negra en general y particularmente en Costa de Marfil, líder africano en este ámbito. Tanto es así que en los encuentros formales e informales de todo tipo suelen hacer dos preguntas al descubrir la realidad: ¿por qué y para qué aprendemos la lengua de Cervantes? Pero al calor de la conversación espontánea, las respuestas muy a menudo pecan de superficialidad. Ahondando entonces algo más la reflexión, la presente contribución se elabora en torno a tres argumentos esenciales como posibles pistas para explicar mejor la fuerte presencia del español en Costa de Marfil: la temprana institucionalización de su estudio, su progresiva enculturación en un nuevo contexto sociocultural y el gran aporte del proceso mundial de la globalización.

    Native Spanish speakers, who set foot on the continent for the first time, starting with the Spaniards themselves, are always surprised by the great interest that exists in their language in black Africa in general and particularly in Ivory Coast, the African leader in this field. So much so that in formal and informal encounters of all kinds they usually ask two questions when discovering the reality: why and what is it learned for the language of Cervantes? But in the heat of the spontaneous conversation, the answers very often sin of superficiality. Then, deepening the reflection a little more, this contribution is elaborated around three essential arguments as possible clues to better explain the strong presence of Spanish in Ivory Coast: the early institutionalization of its study, its progressive enculturation in a new sociocultural context and the great contribution of the world process of globalization.
