This presentation exposes the need to incorporate the bases of sociocultural anthropology, linguistic anthropology and especially ethnographic research techniques to the curriculum of the degree in Spanish Language for Non-Spanish Speakers at the University of Havana. This addition would make it possible to achieve an adequate intercultural relationship, which would put an end to the mimetic and subordinate attitude of students and graduates of the race towards the matrix society and culture of the target language, inherited from the conception of the Communicative Competence category of the communicative method. It proposes the replacement of Communicative Competence by Intercultural Communicative Competence –which comprises it– as the central objective of Teaching Learning Process (TLP), the Teaching Spanish as Foreign Language (TSFL) so that the linguistic mediator (translator / interpreter) is replaced by the figure of the intercultural mediator that overflows it, and thus, position the career in a new niche in the international academic services market, reporting greater visibility to the FENHI, the University of Havana and a substantial increase in income to the system. The proposal is based on the results of numerous investigations whose authors are mentioned as a reference.
