With this communication, we try to highlight the importance acquired by the narrative space in fairytales when implying the young reader in literary fiction. The space factor, although often neglected and inadvertent, is found in pages of important works. However, in most of the cases, it has been narrative for adults the starting point at the time of this study and analysis. For that reason, we think that it has been forgotten the great relevance of this aspect when the receiver is an infant, when what appears to us, is a story for children.
Thus, at a first, we will expose the necessity to value the function that the fictitious spaces have for the infant reader due to their special sensitivity and endless imaginative capacity. Additionally, we will specify the importance that this aspect acquires in a given text: Charles Perrault’s The Sleeping Beauty. Therefore, we will clarify why and what sense those fictious spaces sum up life in the mind of the young reader.
