    La formación del psicopedagogo(a) en la Universidad de Las Tunas (ULT), constituye una prioridad del Sistema Nacional de Educación Superior (SNES), dada la necesidad actual de dicho profesional para enfrentar y contribuir a los cambios educacionales y sociales que vive Cuba en el presente siglo. En la dirección anteriormente referida, el artículo muestra una selección cronológica de los principales momentos del desarrollo de la formación inicial de los psicopedagogos (as) cubanos, con énfasis en los psicopedagogos (as) tuneros, así como un acercamiento al Plan de Estudio E (2016) para su formación inicial. Para ello se aplicaron métodos científicos del nivel teórico: histórico y lógico, análisis y síntesis e inducción y deducción, contribuyeron a determinar los antecedentes y evolución de la carrera de Psicopedagogía en Cuba y Las Tunas, así como la aplicación de diversos planes de estudio, sobre todo el Plan de Estudio E (2016) y su caracterización en cuanto a los aspectos académicos y formativos. Como método científico del nivel empírico: la revisión documental, posibilitó la recepción de información. Se constata que el psicopedagogo (a) en formación inicial se prepara en la Universidad de Las Tunas (ULT), para cumplir funciones relacionadas con la orientación, investigación, docencia y asesoría, similares a las de otros psicopedagogos (as) de otros contextos iberoamericanos. Sus antecedentes como carrera datan del pasado siglo y en otros territorios geográficos dentro Cuba. De ahí que, la carrera en la Universidad de Las Tunas (ULT) comienza en el presente siglo, específicamente en el año 2008. En la actualidad se aplica Plan de Estudio E (2016).

    The formation of the psychopedagogist at the University of Las Tunas constitutes a priority of the National System of Higher Education, given the current need of this professional to face and contribute to the educational and social changes that Cuba is experiencing in the present century. In the aforementioned direction, the article shows a chronological selection of the main moments of the development of the initial formation of Cuban psychopedagogist, with emphasis on Las Tunas psychopedagogist, as well as an approach to the Study Plan E (2016) for their initial formation. For this purpose, scientific methods of the theoretical level were applied: historical and logical, analysis and synthesis and induction and deduction, contributed to determine the background and evolution of the Psychopedagogy career in Cuba and Las Tunas, as well as the application of different study plans, especially the Study Plan E (2016) and its characterization in terms of academic and formative aspects. As a scientific method of the empirical level: the documentary review, made possible the reception of information. It was found that the psychopedagogist in initial formation is prepared at the University of Las Tunas to perform functions related to guidance, research, teaching and counseling, similar to those of other psychopedagogist in other contexts. Its antecedents as a career date back to the last century and in other geographic territories in Cuba. Hence, the career at the University of Las Tunas began in the present century, specifically in 2008. At present, Study Plan E (2016) is being applied.
