Resumen de Legitimación lingüística y de género en la Carta XVI de las Heroidas

  La carta XVI de las Heroidas se diferencia de las otras cartas porque está escrita por Paris y destinada a Helena. A través de ella, se pretende convencer a la receptora de huir juntos, y traicionar los valores de la tradición grecorromana como la hospitalidad y el matrimonio. En este artículo se analizan las estrategias retórico-argumentativas que emplea Paris y la concepción de género que subyacen en estas, al tiempo que se analiza el contexto y el aporte de Ovidio a estos dos tópicos. Para el estudio del primer aspecto se utiliza el modelo de la Gramática Funcional y los datos de los niveles discursivos: representativo e interactivo (Kroon, 1995). En cuanto a la dimensión de género, se tiene en cuenta sobre todo el discurso de Paris, el imaginario en torno a Helena y el contexto en el que se inscribe la obra, prestando especial atención a la manera en que los estereotipos se desdibujan y refuerzan en igual medida.

  The 16th letter of the Heroides differs from the other letters because it is written by Paris and addressed to Helen. Through it, he tries to convince the addressee to run away together, betraying values of the Greco-Roman tradition such as hospitality and marriage. This article analyses the rhetorical-argumentative strategies employed by Paris and the conception of gender that underlies them, while analysing the context and Ovid's contribution to these two topics. In order to study the first aspect, we use the model of Functional Grammar and the data from the discursive levels: representational and interactive (Kroon, 1995). As for the gender dimension, Paris' discourse, the imaginary around Helena and the context in which the work is set are taken into account, paying special attention to the way in which stereotypes are blurred and reinforced in equal measure.
