    La materia de Bretaña forma un conjunto homegéneo de textos; a pesar de todo, no faltaron voces discordantes referidas a los principales personajes de la Mesa Redonda. Así, el rey Arturo, Ginebra y Merlín fueron objeto (entre otros) de burlas y críticas. El artículo recoge algunas de esas burlas referidas a los tres personajes citados, posteriores al siglo xiv y de ámbito castellano casi todas ellas.

    The matter of Brittany constitutes a homogeneous whole; however, there was no lack of discordant voices referring to the main characters of the Round Table. Thus, King Arthur, Guinevere and Merlin were subject (among others) to ridicule and criticism. This article collects some of these mockeries referring to the three characters cited, almost all of which belong to the Castilian sphere and date from the fourteenth century onwards.
