  • The University Orientation Plan of the University of Zaragoza (POUZ) is a strategic course of action followed by the Vice-rectorate of Students and Employment. It has been implemented in all the undergraduate degrees the University offers. Implementation in master’s degree programmes is optional and is decided by each centre. Its general aim is to promote student integration, education and development at the University and to integrate graduates into the workforce. It includes all the support, orientation and guidance services and activities the University provides for its students. The POUZ has been developed and implemented in three phases. The general lines of action of the POUZ were established in the first phase in the academic year 2015–2016, with a special emphasis on introducing students into university life. Tutor-mentor pairing was established as the basis and key tool to provide students with attention, guidance, orientation and support in their first year while they integrate into the University. In the second phase, in the academic year 2016– 2017, support and guidance actions were implemented for students in the second and third years and up to the last undergraduate year in degrees lasting more than four years. Career and academic guidance actions were also implemented for students in their last undergraduate degree year. University and career guidance, support and integration actions are being developed for the University’s graduates in the third phase. Every centre at the University has its own customised University Orientation Plan (POU) adapted to its particular requirements and characteristics.
