    El artículo examina la carpintería en las bodegas vitivinícolas de Argentina y Chile entre 1700 y 1860. El tema es relevante por la importancia de la industria del vino en ambos países: Chile ha reconocido oficialmente al vino como su industria emblemática nacional, y es el quinto exportador mundial de este producto. Argentina es el mayor productor de América Latina y quinto del mundo. Esta actividad tiene una profundidad histórica de más de cuatro siglos y se remonta a la conquista y colonización española. Dentro de ese periodo, este trabajo se propone contribuir al estudio de la arquitectura y el paisaje vitivinícola en la región. Particularmente se estudia la carpintería de las bodegas, particularmente el uso de tijeras, tirantes y pies de gallo. De esta manera se espera aportar al conocimiento de la identidad de la industria de la vid y el vino en el Cono Sur de América.

    The article examines the woodwork in the wineries of Argentina and Chile between 1700 and 1860. The topic is relevant because of the importance of the wine industry in both countries: Chileofficially recognized wine as their national flagship industry, and is the fifth largest exporter of this product. Argentina is the largest producer in Latin America and fifth in the world. This activity has a historical depth of more than four centuries and dates back to the Spanish conquest and colonization. Within that period, this work aims to contribute to the study of landscape architecture and winemaking in the region. In particular it studiesthe carpentry of the wineries, particularly the use of scissors, suspenders and feet of cock. In this way it hopes to contribute to the knowledge of the identity of the vine industry and wine in the Southern Cone of Latin America.
