    El ciclo de vida de los emprendimientos no supera la barrera de 3 meses a un año, en los diferentes tipos de actividad económica, es por eso por lo que se debe obtener información acerca de los factores que dificultan la actividad emprendedora con el fin de fortalecer las debilidades y mitigar las amenazas de los emprendedores, caso contrario los negocios emergentes no se podrán mantener, causando un impacto negativo tanto a nivel familiar como empresarial y social. El presente artículo tiene como objetivo encontrar los factores de quiebre temprana principales y significativos que dificultan la actividad emprendedora del sector calzado del Azuay. El método utilizado para la investigación es cuantitativo-cualitativo, con el propósito de cuantificar la importancia de los factores analizados, adicionalmente, se efectuó encuestas a productores de calzado que siguen vigentes en su actividad, con la finalidad de conocer sus fortalezas y debilidades, y una siguiente encuesta a un grupo representativo de la sociedad, mediante un muestreo por conveniencia y con una población finita de la ciudad de Cuenca, capital de la provincia del Azuay. Se utilizó una encuesta compuesta por preguntas cerradas para conocer sus fortalezas y en qué deberían mejorar los emprendimientos de este tipo, encontrándose que dentro de los factores más importantes está la inversión, el financiamiento, el apoyo gubernamental, barreras legales y de mercado, los cuales son los temas para tener especial atención y mitigar los efectos para no quebrar los emprendimientos, además hallándose oportunidades como la aceptación del mercado azuayo.

    The life cycle of enterprises does not exceed the barrier of 3 months to a year, in the different types of economic activity, that is why information must be obtained about the factors that hinder entrepreneurial activity to strengthen weaknesses and mitigate the threats from entrepreneurs, otherwise, the emerging businesses will not be able to be maintained, causing a negative impact both at the family, business and social level. The objective of this article is to find the main and significant early breakdown factors that hinder the entrepreneurial activity of the Azuay footwear sector. The method used for the research is quantitative-qualitative, to quantify the importance of the analyzed factors, additionally, surveys were carried out with footwear producers who are still current in their activity, to know their strengths and weaknesses, and the following survey of a representative group of society, through a convenience sampling and with a finite population of the city of Cuenca, capital of the province of Azuay. A survey consisting of closed questions was conducted to find out their strengths and how undertakings of this type should improve, finding that among the most important factors are investment, financing, government support, legal and market barriers, which are the issues to have special attention and mitigate the effects so as not to fail the ventures, in addition to finding opportunities such as the acceptance of the Azuayan market.
