    Desde diversas perspectivas teóricas, fundamentalmente de la psicología cognitiva-evolutiva y de corrientes sistémico-funcionalistas, la etapa infantil ha sido considerada como una de las manifestaciones más característica de la vida del ser humano, en dónde el juego encuentra asidero y sustenta las posibilidades de construir sentidos de realidad en el infante. Tanto los procesos de representación del mundo como los modelos de socialización son patentados en el juego en este estadio, los que se conjugan con la interacción suscrita entre el niño y los objetos, dando lugar al pensamiento simbólico y a la formación de procesos identitarios. El niño, a través del juego, se acerca al disfrute y goce del tiempo libre, a la suspensión del determinismo social en el que se circunscribe y a la libertad de elección de su ser posible.

    From different theoretical perspectives, primarily from cognitive-developmental psychology and systemicfunctionalist currents, the infant stage has been regarded as one of the most characteristic manifestations of human life, where the game is considered fundamental, and it supports the possibilities of constructing senses of reality in the child. Both the processes of representing the world as socialization models are patented in the game at this stage, which are combined with the signed interaction between the child and objects, giving rise to symbolic thought and the formation of identity processes. The child, through the game, gets closer to the pleasure and enjoyment of free time, to the suspension of social determinism which is already confined and to the freedom of choice of its being possible.
