  • Resumen
    • In the EU, buildings are responsible for approximately 40% CO2 emissions. Due to the raising attention given to energy efficiency, the concept of zero energy buildings is created. These types of buildings are characterized by being able to create a balance between energy consumed and generated, which means they produce almost the same energy that they require. It is a waste to use an element of great volume, as a building façade, merely as an aesthetic and structural element having the possibility of using it as an element to reduce energy demand and/or produce renewable energy, especially when green energies are a booming issue. Therefore the present work has as main aim to qualify building engineer students tin the field of activate façades. During the academic course of 2013-2014, the subject domotics of building technological innovation Master imposed in the Escuela Técnica Superior de Edificación (E.T.S.E.M) in the Politecnical University of Madrid, some methods to awaken engineer student have been applied, like the use of simulation programmes to apply in a practical way the theoretical knowledge previously received or the attendance to congress lectures.
