    El presente artículo tiene como fin establecer las características comunes, desde el punto de vista expresionista, entre la obra teatral de Friedrich Dürren - matt, La visita de la vieja dama , y la película argentina dirigida por Gastón Duprat y Mariano Cohn, El ciudadano ilustre.

    En ambas obras, el protagonista es víctima de la crueldad del pueblo al que pertenece y está sometido a l a degradación de su entorno y de sí mismo .

    En este estudio se analizará el trasfondo ideológico, la temática y las técnicas dramáticas y escénicas dominantes en ambas obras que las convierten en una continuación de lo que fue el movimiento expresionista.

    The purpose of this article is to establish the common characteristics, from the expressio - nist point of view, between the play written by Friedrich Dürrenmatt, The Visit , and the Argentine film directed by Gastón Duprat and Mariano Cohn, The Distinguished Citizen .

    In both works, the prota - gonist is the victim of the cruelty of the people from the village to which he belong s and is subjected to the degradation of his surroun - dings and himself .

    This study will analyze the ideological background, thematic and the dominant dramatic and scenic techniques in both works that make them a continuation of the past expressioni st movement
