Resumen de Editar en Wikipedia: intereses y motivaciones de las personas en situación de desempleo

Este artículo describe un proyecto educativo desarrollado para enseñar a estudiantes de cursos de formación ocupacional a editar en Wikipedia. Se debía mostrar a los alumnos el funcionamiento interno de un wiki y para ello se utilizó Wikipedia como herramienta de aprendizaje en la construcción del conocimiento. Se crearon y mejoraron artículos de diferentes temáticas con el fin de conocer si aquellas escogidas tenían influencia en su motivación, así como las dificultades encontradas durante el proceso de edición. También se formó un grupo de discusión con el fin de conocer el uso que le dan este tipo de alumnos a Wikipedia, las percepciones que tienen sobre su fiabilidad y los motivos por los que no editan en ella. El estudio se realizó durante tres años con un total de 28 alumnos, que en general no mostraron interés en la edición de Wikipedia cuando esta no se tuvo en cuenta para la nota final de la asignatura. Ninguno de los alumnos había editado en Wikipedia anteriormente, encontraron dificultades a la hora de entender la obligatoriedad de añadir referencias a la información que aportaban, pero opinaron que había sido una actividad muy positiva.

This article describes an educational project to teach students of occupational training courses to edit on Wikipedia. Students had to know the inner workings of a wiki and for this, Wikipedia was used as a learning tool in the construction of knowledge. Articles on different topics were created and improved in order to know if the chosen topics influenced their motivation and the difficulties they encountered during the editing process. A discussion group was also held to learn about the use of Wikipedia by these students, their perceptions of its reliability and the reasons why they do not edit on it. The study was conducted over three years with a total of 28 students, who generally showed no interest in the edition of Wikipedia when it was not considered for the final grade of the subject. None of the students had edited on Wikipedia before, they found it difficult to understand the obligation to add references to the information they provided, but they thought it was a very positive activity.
