    Aunque pueda parecer que la educación y los ferrocarriles son cosas muy distintas y tienen lugar en ámbitos muy distantes, se pretende en este artículo señalar algunos aspectos de su historia, de sus actividades y de su propia esencia íntimamente ligados entre sí.

    Se analizan algunos datos e imágenes en el tiempo que va desde los inicios de los sistemas escolares, coincidente con la aparición de los ferrocarriles, hasta la Gran Guerra europea de 1914 a 1918: la época del progreso. Y también de los trenes y de las escuelas, que, por utilizar un término muy ferroviario, calificamos como vías de y para el progreso

    Although it may seem that education and railways are very different things and take place in very distant fields, in this article we try to point out some aspects of its history, its activities and its own essence closely linked to each other.

    We present and analyze some data and images the time that goes from the beginnings of school systems, coinciding with the appearance of the railways, until the Great European War from 1914 to 1918: a time of progress.
