    Si la influencia del psicoanálisis en la dramaturgia lorquiana ha atraído la atención de la crítica, hasta convertirse en una clave de lectura imprescindible del «teatro imposible», dista de ser la vía privilegiada para interpretar Yerma, obra aparentemente más realista. Sin embargo, la enfermedad mental que padece la protagonista no solo invita a estudiar el impacto de las teorías del inconsciente en la temática, sino que abre el camino a una honda perspectiva metateatral. En este artículo se intentará mostrar cómo la neurosis de Yerma, manifestada bajo la forma de una maternidad obsesiva e inviable, refleja la preocupación del autor por la escena de su tiempo y la esterilidad a la que se ve abocada.

    If the influence of psychoanalysis in Lorca's drama has attracted the attention of critics, to the point of becoming an essential key to reading «impossible theatre», it is far from being the privileged way to interpret Yerma, a play apparently more realistic. However, the mental illness suffered by the protagonist not only invites us to study the thematic impact of the theories of the unconscious, but also opens the access to a profound metatheatrical perspective. This paper intends to analyse how Yerma's neurosis, manifested in the form of an obsessive and unviable maternity, reflects the author's preoccupation with the scene of his time and the sterility to which she is condemned.
