    Aquest article considera les dificultats en l'ús de la terminologia química: la coincidència de determinats termes en el llenguatge general i en el científic, l'ús del llenguatge com una forma d'etiquetatge, l'existència de termes polisèmics, la sinonímia, l'evolució històrica del significant d'alguns termes, els diferents significats que adquireix un terme al llarg del currículum escolar i el manteniment per tradició de termes de significant equívoc. A continuació, es presenten les recomanacions més importants donades per la IUPAC i la IUPAP sobre la nomenclatura de les magnituds fisicoquímiques i de les seves unitats, tot destacant la importància didàctica de tenir-les en compte a l'aula.

    This article considers the difficulties in the use of the chemical terminology: some words are used in general language and in scientific language, the use of language as a way of labelling, polysemic words, synonimous words, the historical evolution of the meaning of some words, the different meaning of a word across the scholar curriculum and the prevalence of some words although its misleading meaning. After that, the article presents the most important IUPAC recommendations about the nomenclature of the physic-chemistry magnitudes and their units, showing the didactic importance of taking them into account.
