Espaços outros que convivem nas escolas: heterotopias

    This essay aims to reflect on school as a living space that produces heterotopias, a concept addressed by Michel Foucault (2000, 2001, 2013). Heterotopias, from Foucault’s perspective (2013), are other spaces found together in the real space; they are invention spaces that cannot be controlled, precisely because they are not foreseen. At first, they were regarded as a language effect, as we can find in the preface of The order of things, published in 1966; later, they were resumed in Foucault’s radiophonic conferences (1966 and 1967), which were published in 1984 under the title Des spaces autres, and posthumously, in 2009, in the book Utopian body. Considering this notion, this writing is an invitation to think of the school as a heterotopic site. An outside space in an inside space. An in-between place, full of activated encounters and potencies, able to invent other spaces in the real space itself, by means of the force that makes us think and perceive the world in different ways, through other lenses. Hence, it has to do with living in other ways in existing places. It involves designing other spaces, heterotopias that enable movements, and spaces with no thoughts, neither at school nor at the university. This requires looking at the space, at the things, at life: designing a resistance space inside a real space. Therefore, it does not mean utopically to create another school, or any other educational space, or even an existence space, but rather create another school in the school itself.

    Este ensaio tem por objetivo pensar a escola como espaço vivo, produtor de heterotopias, conceito abordado por Foucault (2000, 2001, 2013). As heterotopias, na perspectiva de Foucault (2013), são espaços outros que convivem no espaço instituído, nos espaços de invenção que não podem sercontrolados, justamente por não estarem previstos. Foram primeiramente pensadas como um efeito de linguagem, conforme encontramos no prefácio de As palavras e as coisas, obra publicada em 1966. O conceito é retomado em suas conferências radiofônicas (1966 e 1967), publicadas em 1984 com o título Des espaces autres, e ainda postumamente, em 2009, no livro O corpo utópico, heterotopias. A partir dessa noção, a escrita que aqui se apresenta é um convite a pensar a escola como um lugar heterotópico. Um espaço do fora no espaço do dentro. Um entrelugares, povoado de encontros e potências ativados, capazes de inventar espaços outros no próprio espaço do instituído pela força do que nos leva a pensar e a perceber o mundo de outros modos, com outras lentes. Trata-se, assim, de viver de outros modos nos espaços que já existem. Criar no espaço da escola, da universidade, espaços outros, heterotopias que possibilitem movimentos, espaços livres de pensamento. Isso envolve um deslocamento de olhar para o espaço, para as coisas, para a vida: criar um espaço de resistência dentro de um espaço instituído. Portanto, não se trata de criar utopicamente outra escola, nem qualquer outro espaço educativo, nem mesmo um espaço de existência, mas talvez de fazer outra escola na própria escola.
