El artículo demuestra que las tres versiones conservadas de la Vida de Atanasio el Atonita dependen de un modelo único, la Vita prima. Vita B conserva en gran medida el texto de la Vita prima y ocupa un lugar intermedio entra la Vita C y la Vita A, compartiendo algunos elementos con la primera y otros con la segunda. La Vita C puede considerarse un epítome, mientras que el autor de la Vita A omite algunos pasajes porque los considera demasiado pedestres, a la vez que elabora otros. This article makes the case that all three extant versions of the Life of Athanasius the Athonite depend on a common model, the Vita prima. Vita B by and large preserves the text of the Vita prima and therefore takes an intermediate position between Vita C and Vita A, sharing some elements with the former and some with the latter. Vita C can be considered an epitome whereas the author of Vita A omits some passages because he finds them too pedestrian but greatly elaborates others, with the result that his text is considerably longer
