  La investigación realizada consiste en la aplicación de técnicas pictográficas para incentivar el gusto y hábitos por la lectura en los estudiantes del segundo año de EGB, de la Unidad Educativa Santa María de la Trinidad del periodo 2018 – 2019 de la cuidad de Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas - Ecuador, con el propósito conocer la influencia que tienen las técnicas pictográficas en el fortalecimiento del interés por la lectura, se utilizó un enfoque mixto, cualitativo y cuantitativo, con un diseño cuasi-experimental realizado en dos momentos, un pre test y pos test, finalmente se evaluaron los resultados de la intervención en el primero notando un bajo interés y hábitos por la lectura, en el segundo momento en la aplicación de las técnicas pictográficas se mejoró el interés y hábitos por la lectura. Concluyendo que las aplicaciones de las técnicas pictográficas mejoran significativamente el interés, gusto y hábitos por la lectura de los educandos.

  The research carried out consists of the application of pictographic techniques to encourage taste and habits for reading in the second year students of EGB, of the Santa María de la Trinidad Educational Unit from the 2018 - 2019 period of the city of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas - Ecuador, with the purpose of knowing the influence that pictographic techniques have on the strengthening of the interest in reading, a mixed, qualitative and quantitative approach was used, with a quasi-experimental design carried out in two moments, a pre and post test. test, finally the results of the intervention were evaluated in the first, noting a low interest and habits for the reading, in the second moment in the application of the pictographic techniques the interest and habits for the reading were improved. Concluding that the applications of the pictographic techniques significantly improve the interest, taste and habits for the reading of the learners.
