Este artículo presenta los resultados de una investigación descriptivo-analítica, con aproximaciones al enfoque cuantitativo, cuyo objetivo era conocer si en las clases de inglés de los colegios públicos de Cartagena se trabaja con contenidos diversos e integrados, coherentes con objetivos que propendan por la formación integral de los estudiantes. Los resultados muestran el predominio de los contenidos lingüísticos sobre los comunicativos, culturales y educativos, así como la poca coherencia con objetivos orientados a la formación integral de los estudiantes.
This article shows the results of descriptive - interpretive research, with approximations to the quantitative approach, whose aim was to know whether in English classes at public schools of Cartagena both diverse and integrated contents are used, in accordance with aims orientated towards the integral formation of the students. The results show the predominance of the linguistic contents on communicative, cultural and educational ones, as well as little coherence with aims orientated towards the integral formation of the students.
