Aproximación sociolingüística al "code-switching" gibraltareño: estudio comparativo de las actitudes lingüísticas extrapolables en textos de la columna "Calentita"

    La realización de este trabajo tiene como propósito el estudio de varios textos de la columna Calentita: Gibraltar’s National Dish. El telephone conversation de Cynthia y Cloti, incluida en la revista Panorama, para analizar cómo en momentos de mayor convulsión política y social la variedad yanita se utiliza como un instrumento de difusión de la identidad gibraltareña. Para ello, tomaremos como referencia dos periodos significativos en la historia de la Roca: los años del cierre de la Verja (1969-1982) y la actual situación que se ha generado a raíz del Brexit (2016-). La metodología que se utilizará es la propia de la disciplina sociolingüística: en concreto, se propone un estudio de las actitudes lingüísticas que se expresan a través de su complejo sistema de code-switching y sus diversas estrategias comunicativas con el objetivo de trazar una analogía entre ambos períodos y comprobar la hipótesis previamente expuesta.

    The purpose of this project is to study several texts from the column, Calentita: Gibraltar’s National Dish. El telephone conversation de Cynthia y Cloti, included in the daily magazine, Panorama, with the intention of analising how the Gibraltarian linguistic variety is used as an instrument of spreading Gibraltarian identity in times of political tension. Two significant periods of the Gibraltarian history will be taken to do so: the years of the closing of the border (1969-1982) and the current situation that has emerged by Brexit (2016-).

    The methodology that will be used is included within the sociolinguistic branch: concretely, a study of the linguistic attitudes that are expressed throughout its complex system of code-switching and its diverse communicative strategies is proposed. The aim is to make an analogy between both periods and to check the hypothesis previously mentioned
