  • In this paper, we aim to address the phenomenon of verbal periphrasis —very commonly used inSpanish language— from the point of view of translation, with reference to the Spanish-Italian language pair. Inparticular, our aim is to identify the techniques that have proved to be most relevant throughout the translationprocess from Spanish into Italian. In spite of the phylogenetic relationship between these two languages, whichhave traditionally been described as cognate languages, we will analyse which translational and interlinguisticoperations have been carried out, in order to obtain a good translation.
